                                  Right swa ilk man þat here lyfes,

                                  Of alle þat God thurgh grace him gyfes,
                                
                                  Suld other serve, þat þar-of has nede,
                                
                                  Als he wille answere at þe day of drede.
                                
                                  Ful many men lyfes here of þa
                                  Line 5936 
                                
                                  Þat er halden for to do swa,
                                
                                  Als he þat gret and myghty es,
                                
                                  Es halden to defende þam þat er les;
                                
                                  And þe ryche þat mykel rychesces has,
                                  Line 5940 
                                
                                  To gyf þam þat here in povert gas;
                                
                                  And men of laghe alswa to travayle
                                
                                  And to counsaile þam þat askes counsayle;
                                
                                  And leches alswa, if þai wyse ware,
                                  Line 5944 
                                
                                  To hele þam þat er seke and sare;
                                
                                  And maysters of þair science to ken,
                                
                                  Namly, þam þat er unlered men;
                                
                                  And precheours Goddes worde to preche,
                                  Line 5948 
                                
                                  And þe way of lyf other to teche.
                                
                                  Þus es ilk man halden with gude entent,
                                
                                  To help other of þat God has þam lent
                                
                                  Frely for Goddes luf, and for noght elles,
                                  Line 5952 
                                
                                  Wharfor Saynt Petre þe apostel þus telles:
                                
                                    Unusquisque, sicut accipit graciam, in alte|
                                  
                                    rutrum illam administrare debet.
                                  
                                  He says "ilk man þat grace has here
                                  Line 5956 
                                
                                  Als he resayves grace, on þe same manere
                                
                                  Suld he it ministre and frely bede
                                
                                  Til ilkan other þat þai [Þar?]  of has nede"
                                
                                  And þus es ilk man halden to do,
                                  Line 5960 
                                
                                  For in þe godspelle yhitsays God mar þarto:
                                
                                    Quod gratis accepistis,
                                  
                                    gratis date.
                                  
                                  He says "þat þat yhe haf of grace fre
                                  Line 5964 
                                
                                  And frely resayved, frely gyf yhe."
                                
                                  Þus sal men þan yhelde resons sere
                                
                                  Of alle þair lyf, als writen es here,
                                
                                  Þat es of alle tymes spended in vayne,
                                  Line 5968 
                                
                                  And of ilka moment of tyme certayne;
