                                  Alle sal haf gret drede þat day,

                                  Bath gude and ille, als we here clerks say.
                                
                                  Þar sal be nouther aungel na [ne,]  man
                                
                                  Þat þai ne sal tremble for drede þan;
                                
                                  Alle-if þai wat þat þai sal be safe,

                                  Yhit sal þai þat day dre [dred,]  hafe
                                
                                  Noght for þam-self, for þai er giltles,
                                
                                  Bot for þe gret reddure of ryghtwisnes,
                                
                                  And for þe gret austerité,
                                  Line 5376 
                                
                                  Þat Crist sal shew þat day to se,
                                
                                  Agayn þe synful men namly,
                                
                                  Þat sal be dampned, wyth-outen mercy.
                                
                                  When rightwys men þat sal be saf,

                                  And aungels swa mykel dred haf
                                
                                  What dred and dole aght synful haf þan?
                                
                                  Þarfor þos says þe halyman:
                                
                                    Si columpne celi contremiscent et
                                  
                                  Line 5384 
                                
                                    pavent adventum Christi,
                                  
                                    et angeli pacis amare flebunt,
                                  
                                    peccatores autem quid facient!
                                  
                                  He says "if þe pylers of heven bright,
                                  Line 5388 
                                
                                  Þat er haly men þat has liffed right,
                                
                                  Sal dred Cristes commyng and manhede,
                                
                                  And þe aungels alswa sal þan haf drede,
                                
                                  And yhit gret ful bitterly þar-to,
                                  Line 5392 
                                
                                  What sal þe synful men þan do,
                                
                                  Þat sal be dampned, als I sayd are?"
                                
                                  And says þe haly man þus mare:
                                
                                    Si iustus vix salvabitur, impius
                                  
                                  Line 5396 
                                
                                    et peccator ubi parebunt?
                                  
                                  "If þe rightwys man" yhit says he,
                                
                                  "Sal unnethes þan saved be,
                                
                                  Þe synful and þe wykked man
                                  Line 5400 
                                
                                  Whyderward sal þai wend þan?"
                                
                                  Ryghtwysmen, als þe buk telles,
                                
                                  Sal be saf þan and nan elles.
                                
                                  Our Loverd in manhed sal þan sitt
