Of þe .X. commandemens; Whos wold be sauid, ham ssold hold.
Þe first comondement is þis: Line 33 O god we ssul honuri, Þe heiȝ king of heuen blis, His name wiþ wirssip to worþi.
Loue þou him, as he doþ þe, Line 37 Wiþ al þi miȝt and þi þoȝt; We auȝt ful wel, for hit was he Þat vs wrecchis so dere boȝt.
More harm is: we doþ noȝt so, Line 41 We louid þe ful dritte of grunde. Alas! wrecchis, whi do we so? Hit mai noȝt hold vre lif a stunde.
Ȝe [. Ȝe, Ms. ve] beþ hi þe deuil betauȝt Line 45 Þat liuiþ op goddis mo þan one And makiþ goddis þroȝ wichcraft; Þai ssul al to þe deuil gone.
Þe secunde so is þis: Line 49 Sundai wel þat ȝe holde, To serue god þilk dai wis, Boþe ȝung and eke [Ms. ek] olde.
And now þe sundai opunlich Line 53 Men holt al har cheping; Wonder þat gode ne sent wreech Al an erþe vp mankyn.
Þe þrid is: fader, moder to honuri, Line 57 For [Ms. foȝ.] euch man aȝt ful wel. Moch ten suffrid hi, Her hi [So teilt das Ms. ab, Mä. zieht her hi zum vorigen Vers.] miȝt bring þe wrecche to wel.
Hit falliþ bi children þat beþ quede, [folio 32] Line 61 As fariþ bi been in hiue: Whan fader ȝuief [So im Ms.] ham londe and leede, Þe ȝung wol þe old ut driue.
