[verse 1] Ande Poule, lokande vnto [to S.P.D.] þo cownseile, saide, Ȝhe men, breþer, I in alle gode conscience hafe lifed bifore God vnto þis daye. [verse 2] Ande Ananye, þo prince of prestes, bad to þoo þat stode nere [nyȝ S.P.D.] hym forto smyte hise mowþe. [verse 3] Þanne [C m 23 in marg. in a later hand, C.] sayde Poule vnto [to S.P.D.] hym, Þow [if þow C, om. S.P.D.] , I am a Pharisene, þo sone of a Pharisene, of þo hope ande of þo resurrecyone I am demed. [verse 7] Ande whanne he hade saide þise, onone [on- above the line, in different ink, C.] was made a [om. S.P.] discencyone [bitwixe] [S.P. bytwixte D. byfore C.] þo Pharisens ande þo [om. S.P.D.] Saducens, ande so þo multitude was diuersed ande twynned. [verse 8] Þo Saducens saide, þat þere schulde no resurreccyone be, ande þat þer was nouþer awngel nor [ne S.P.] spiritte: ande þo Pharisens saide þo reuerce þat boþe þise was. [verse 9] Ande grete criynge was made: ande sum of þo Pharises faughte, sayande, We fynde none [C folio 63] yuel in þis man: what þofe [ȝif S.P.D.] a spirytte hafe spoken vnto [to S.P.D.] hym, or an [eny S.P.D.] awngel?
