[verse 2] We þankeþ God efermore for ȝow alle, & we makeþ [verse 3] muynde of ȝou efermore wiþ-outen styntynge, hafynge muynde of þe werk of ȝoure feiþ, & of ȝoure [oure, P.] [P folio 66b] trafayle, & of ȝoure charyte, & of ȝoure abydynge, & of ȝoure hope of oure Lord Iesu Crist, to-fore God & oure Fader. [verse 4] And knowe ȝe, my [verse 5] lefe breþeren, ȝoure eleccyoun of God, for oure euangelye ne was noȝt to ȝou onlyche in word, bote in vertu, & in þe holy Spiryt, & in gret plente, as ȝe wyteþ whyche we weren in ȝou for ȝou. [verse 6] And ȝe beþ y-maad foleweres of [S folio 58] ous, & of oure Lord, takynge þe word in myche tribulacyoun, wiþ þe ioye of [verse 7] þe holy Spiryt; þat ȝe beþ y-maad forme to alle þilke þat byleueþ in Macedonye & in Achaye. [verse 9] For þei scheweþ of ous what entre we haden in-to ȝow; & how ȝe beþ y-turned to God fro mawmetes, for-to [verse 10] seruen a verrey God þat lyueþ, & to abyden his Sone from heuene, whom he arered up from deþ to lyf, Iesu, þat haþ delyuered ous from wraþþe þat is to comynge.
