                                  ¶ Cesar herde what he bysought,
                                
                                  & streitly turnde hit in his þought,
                                
                                  & schewed hit his barons aboute,
                                
                                  Wheþer þey heldit certeyn or doute.

                                  Þat atte laste seyde Cesar,
                                
                                  " Þat he ne wolde, for sonde ne sawe,

                                  & þritty oþer wyþ hym þey went,
