'Ichot þat non so hardi be, Line 6945 Þat him mis-do to-for me, Þer-while þat he in mi court is: Þat ich hot ȝou alle, y-wis, & þat his stede be him [to underdotted after him.] bitauȝt, & out at þe gates þat he be brouȝt, Line 6950 & þat he be to-hewe flesche and bon.' Þai deliuerd his stede anon: He lepe opon him swiþe, & out at þe gat he gan driue. His scheld wiþ him þan he bar, Line 6955 His gode swerd forȝat he nouȝt þar. Out of þe castel he is y-gon, Toward Loreyne he went anon.
Þerl wiþ þat armed is: [C line 6647] Gij he drof smertliche, y-wis, Line 6960 Wiþ his kniȝtes on heye stede Redi armed to þat nede. Sir Gij his stede bi-went þo: On of her kniȝtes he smot so, Þurch his bodi þe swerd is gon. Line 6965 Anoþer he feld þer anon. Wiþ þat come þerl prikeinde Opon his stede wele bereinde Wiþ a spere an hond y-armed [The y added above the line.] wel: Gij to smite he was ful fel.
