[227] ¶ And therfore seith Salamon. The wicked man [¶ Salamon.] dyeth & when he is deed he schall haue non hope to escape fro peyne. [228] Who so aschamed is well wolde vn|dirstonde these peynes & bi-thynke hym well that he hath deseruyd thilk peynes for his synnes. Certis he schulde haue more talent to sike & to wepe; then for to syngen & to pleie. [229] ¶ ffor as seith Salamon [¶ Salamon.] who so that hadde the science for to knowe the peynes that ben establisched & ordeyned for synne he wolde make sorow.
