                                  Twelf monþes after and four dawes, . þat god was ibore,
                                
                                  Was þat heo weren islawe, . so ȝong heo weren icore.

                                  I cristned heo weren in here blod, . vair was þe companie;
                                
                                  Reuþfol and sori was þe cri . þt here modres gan crie.
