"Þe fir byfor hym, on sere partys, Sal ga and about brine his enemys;" Line 4920 Þat fire mens bodys to askes sal brin, And þe world and alle þat es þar-ine; Þus sal þe fire first byfor come, Ar Crist com doun til þe dome. Line 4924 And when þe fire has wasted, als I talde, Þan sal al men ryse, bathe yhong and alde, Out of þair graves with saul and body, And come til þe dome þan alle halely Line 4928 And our Loverd Crist sal com doun þan, And sit in dome, als domes man, And deme þan, bathe gude and ille, Als yhe may aftir-ward here, if yhe wille; Line 4932 And yhit þe fire alle þat tyde Sal brin obout hym, on ilka syde, Als þe prophete David bers wytnes In þe Psauter, þar þus writen es: Line 4936 "Ignis, in conspectu eius, exardescet, et incircuitu eius tempestas valida." "Þe fyre sal brin in his sight," says he, And obout hym grete tempest sal be." Line 4940 And als lang als þat dome sal last Þe fire sal brin, on ilk syde fast; And when þe dome es broght til ende, Þa þat sal be dampned sal wende, Line 4944 With alle þe fire þat swa sal brin, Til helle pytt, and duelle ay þar-in. Þan sal alle þe fire be sweped doune In-til helle, with alkyn corrupcioune, Line 4948 And alle þe filth of þe world, neshe and hard, Als in þis bok es writen aftirward. Þus thurgh alle þe world þe fire4sal brin, And clense it of al manere of syn, Line 4952 And of alle corrupcions, bath hegh and, law Þat men may now se, here, and knaw; And when þe fire has wasted al erdly thyng, Þan sal þe hevens sees of movyng.
