Cesarius tellis how som tyme þer was a burd̛ þat was lernyd̛ to speke. So on̛ a tyme sho flow away in þe feldis, & þe Goshalk sewid̛ after hur & wold̛ hafe kyllid̛ hur. And when̛ sho saw hym̛ com̛, as sho was lernyd̛ at home, sho began̛ to cry, & sayd̛; " Sancte Thoma ! adiuua me ! A ! Saynt Thomas, helpe me!" And onone þis goshalk feƚƚ down̛ dead̛, and þis burd̛ esskapid̛ & had none harm̛. Lo ! surs, what vertue it is to caƚƚ on̛ Saynt Thomas, martir of Cantyrbery, in any tribulacion̛ !
