Ad-huc de Sancto Augustino.
We rede how on̛ a tyme þer was a womman̛ þat mysterd̛ cownceƚƚ, & sho come vnto Saynt Austyn̛ & fande hym̛ at his studie. And sho come vnto hym̛ & salusid̛ hym̛, & he wold̛ nowder luke on̛ hir nor ansswer hur. And sho stude stiƚƚ & vmthoght hur, & trowid̛ þat for his halynes he wold̛ not behold̛ a wommans face. And sho come ner hym̛ and̛ told̛ hym̛ hur erand̛, and he wolde not ansswer̛ hur nor als mekle as ans move hym̛. And when̛ sho saw þis, sho went away fro hym̛ with grete sorow & hevynes. And on̛ þe morn̛ after, when̛ he had said̛ his mes & þe same womman̛ was þer-att, after þe sacryng-tyme sho was ravisshid̛ in hur spyritt, and sho thoght þat sho was afor̛ þe iugement of almighti God̛; and þer, as sho thoght, sho saw Saynt Austyn̛, faste disputand̛ of þe ioy of þe holie Trinytie. & as hur thoght, þer was a voyse at said̛ vnto hur; "when̛ at þou come vnto Saynt Austyn̛, on̛ þis maner of wyse he was disputand̛ of þe ioy of þe holie Trynytie; and þat he thynkys on̛ wele enogℏ. Bod go now vnto hym̛ boldlie, & þou shaƚƚ fynd̛ hym̛ meke enogℏ, and he saƚƚ giff þe gude cownceƚƚ." & sho did so; & he harde hur with gude wiƚƚ & gaff hur his beste cownceƚƚ.
