Vsurarij pena aliquando visibiliter
demonstratur.
Cesarius tellis how som tyme in þe cete of Metence þer was ane vsurer þat died̛, & he was passand̛ covatus. And when̛ he drew nere his dead̛, he prayed̛ his wife to lay a bag fuƚƚ of syluer by hym̛ when̛ he was dead in his grafe; and so sho did̛. So afterward̛ þaim happend̛ oppen [MS. oppend̛.] þat same grafe agayn̛, & þai fand̛ þerin ij tadis, ane in þe bag mouthe and a noder on his brest̛; & þat one of þaim drew oute penys of þe bag with his mouthe & þe toder tuke þaim at hym̛ & putt þaim into his harte, right as he had sayd̛; "With mony we saƚƚ fyƚƚ þine vnsaciable harte." And when̛ þai saw þis, þai wer so ferd̛ at þai fled away & fillid þe grafe agayn̛.
