Cesarius tellis of ij yong men̛ þat was at Tholence, & þer þai studid̛ in nygramancye. So þe tane of þaim happend̛ to faƚƚ seke, bown̛ to dye, and þe toder prayed̛ hym̛ þat with-in xx dayes after his dissese he wold̛ apere vnto hym̛, & latt hym̛ witt how it stude with hym̛. And he grawntid̛, & he mot be suffred þerto, with gude wiƚƚ, and þan̛ he dyed̛. And with-in þe tearm̛ he apperid̛ vnto his felow, and he axkid̛ hym̛ of his estate. And he ansswerd̛ hym̛ agayn̛ & sayd̛; "Wo is me, for I am̛ [dampnyd] [Latin, 'Ve mihi, dampnatus sum.'] for þe connyng of dialetykk̘ þat I lernyd̛. And þerfor̛," he said̛, "I counceƚƚ þe att þou lefe itt." And he agreid̛ & did̛ aftur his cownceƚƚ, and lefte hitt & made hym̛ a monk in Ceustus ordur, & þer he liffid̛ aƚƚ his lyffe.
