Purgatorius. Purgatorij pene sunt diuerse.

Iacobus de Vetriaco tellis þat when̛ Saynt Marie of Oginiez prayed for a certayn̛ sawle vppon̛ Saynt Petur day þe aposteƚƚ, Saynt Petur aperid vnto hur and̛ tolde hur þe paynys at it was in & þe cawsis þeroff, and how at it was turment with huge hete becauce it luffid passynglie þis werlde & þe lustis þerof. And som tyme it was gretelie turment with a huge caldnes, becauce it was slaw to do gudenes, & neclegentlie governyd þe chylder & þe howsholde [A sidenote says, [n]ota bene, here.] . And [som]tyme it was punysshid̛ with hungre and threste, becauce it had grete dilectacion̛ in meat & drynk̘. And̛ sum tyme it was gretelie punysshid with nakidnes, becauce it had in þe life grete delectation̛ in costious clothyng, & to be passynglie warm̛ happed.
