Valerius tellis how on̛ a tyme Grete Alexander was streken̛ in a grete yre, & thoght to kaste down̛ þe cetie of Lapsatum. So hym̛ happend̛ mete sodanlie one þat was callid̛ Anaximetes, þat was his preceptur & his maister, and he was ashamyd to mete his maister becauce he was in suche ane angre, and he grawntid̛ his maister þat what þing som̛-evur at he wulde axke hym̛, he wolde grawnt hym̛ itt. And when̛ þis Anaximetes hard̛ þis he said̛; "Sur Kyng, I aske at þou dof þine envie ayeynste þe cetie of Lapsatt." And he grawntid̛ hym̛ it. And þus þurgℏ his benefice was þe cetie savid̛.
