was taken̛ in þe were with þe Aragans [Lat. MSS. ab Agarenis.] , & depute into serves with þer kyng. So it happend̛ vppon̛ Saynt Nicholas day þis yong man̛ broght þe kyng wyne in a copp of golde, and as he held̛ it befor̛ þe kyng he remembred̛ hym̛ þat it was Saynt Nicholas day, & how his fadur as þat day was wunte to make a grete feste. And sodanly he gaff a grete sigℏ, and þe kyng wold̛ algattis wete þe cauce at he sighed̛ for, and he told̛ hym̛ evure dele. And þis vncrestend̛ kyng thrett hym̛ & said̛; "What at evur þi Nicholas duse, þou shaƚƚ dweƚƚ here with vs." And with þat sodanlie þer come a grete wynd̛, & smate down̛ þe howse and liftid̛ vp̛ þe childe with þe copp̛ in his hand̛ & þe wyne in it, & sett hym̛ evyn̛ at his fadur dure. And he went in & fand̛ his fadur & aƚƚ his frendis at dyner, & þer he teld̛ þaim aƚƚ how it happend̛. And þai war passand̛ fayn̛ & thankid God & Saynt Nicholas.
