And he offerd̛ vnto hym̛ & wold̛ hafe gyffen̛ a grete porcion̛ of syluer vesseƚƚ, & bad hym̛ were þaim for his sake. & he forsuke þaim & wolde not take þaim. And he was wrothe þerwith & said̛; "Ye saƚƚ nevur teƚƚ þat Marchus Thurius had lere be lorde of riches þan̛ for to be maid̛ riche of wisdom̛. For vmthynk you þat ye neuer saw me ourcommen̛ in bateƚƚ, nor yit be corrupte with money."
