and sufficientlie letterd̛. And on̛ a tyme he garte latt

connyng, right evyn̛ as he [MS. repeats, he.] had loste
þaim be blode-lattyng [MS. blode lastyng.] , so þat he
knew not a lettre nor cuthe not vnderstand̛ a lattyn̛
wurd̛; not-withstondyng he was refte no thyng els. And þis
he tolde vnto many men̛. So þer was a man̛ on̛ a
tyme cownceld̛ hym̛ & sayde, "þe same day
twelmo[n]th at þou was lattyn̛ blude on̛, and þe
same howre," he sulde lat hym̛ blude agayn̛, and so
peraventur he sulde gytt agayn̛ his connyng. And so he did,
& he requoverd̛ hys connyng agayn̛ als wele as evur he
had it.
