Matrimonium contrahi debet magis inter personas bonarum condicionum quam diuitum.

Iustinus tellis how on̛ a tyme a man̛ askid̛ cownceƚƚ at Theristides [Harl. MS. Thimistidem.] of Athenys wheþer [Vtrum filiam suam pauperi sed ornato, uel locupleti sed parum probato collocaret.] hym̛ was bettir giff his doghter vnto a pure man̛, or to a riche man̛. And he ansswerd̛ agayn̛ & said̛; "I hafe levur þe money of þe man̛ þan̛ money be boght vnto þe man̛."
