Marie salutacio immittit timorem et malum
cogitatum emittit.
Som̛ tyme a non̛, tempid̛ for luff of a yong man̛, wold̛ hafe gane into þe werld̛, and sho mot not gett oute bod if sho had went þurgh þe kurk̘. And so as sho went þurgℏ þe kurk sho [MS. & set.] set hur down̛ befor̛ our Ladie, as sho was wunt to doo, & lowtid̛ down̛ & said̛ hur Ave Maria. And sodanlie þer come on̛ hur so grete a drede þat sho mot no ferrer go furtℏ; and so it happend̛ oft sithes with hur. And at þe laste sho was tempid̛ with so grete temptacion̛, to so mekuƚƚ at sho thoght at sho suld̛ pas furthe by our Ladie & nothyng lowte vnto hur, nor at sho wold̛ not say hur Ave Maria. And þis done þe devuƚƚ tuke a power in hur, and gaff hur a hardynes to go oute of hur ordur with, & þus on̛ a tyme sho went hur wayes & fulfillid̛ þe luste of hur flessℏ.
