Neuer-þe-les he had grete deuocion̛ vnto Marie Magdaleyn̛, & wurshuppid̛ hur day & fastid̛ hur evyn̛, and wold̛ go in pylgramege vnto hur grafe. So on̛ a tyme sho aperid̛ vnto hym̛ in lyknes of a fayr womman̛, bod sho had wepyng een̛, and sho said̛ vnto hym̛; "Stephan, whi duse þou iƚƚ dedis agayn̛ my gude merettis? Whi ert þou not movid̛ with no compunccion̛ for þi syn̛? And I hafe prayed so hartlie for þe sen̛ þou had deuocion̛ vnto me, and þerfor̛ rise & forthynke þe, for I wiƚƚ not forsake þe to þou be recownceld̛."
