We rede how on̛ a tyme a wulfe ouercome a damyseƚƚ & gatt hur be þe arm̛ in a town̛, & sho cryed̛ faste; & euer when̛ sho cryed he wolde strene hur sore, & when̛ sho held̛ hur tong he sparid̛ hur. Notwithstondyng he haylid̛ hur vnto þe wud̛ vnto a noder wulfe þat had a bane stykkand̛ in his throte, and he was gretely turment þer-with & he gapid̛ wyde. & þe [After þe, j, erased.] damyseƚƚ saw þe bane stik in his throte, & sho put in hur hand̛ in his mowthe & pullid̛ it oute. And he & his felow broght hur agayn̛ vnto þe town̛ safe & sownd̛, & lowtid vnto hir and went þer wayes. et c̛.
