Loquendum non est nimis superbe.

In þe iiij yere of Iustinyan̛ was þer ij bisshoppis, and þer enmys come on̛ þaim & pullid̛ þer tongis oute of þer hedis. Afterward̛ be revelacion̛ þai wer restorid̛ vnto þer tongis & mot speke, & did̛ many meracles. So at þe laste þai began̛ to wax prowde of speche, and onone, as God wold̛, þai wex bothe dom̛, & did neuer meracles after. And Saynt Gregor̛ tellis in his 'Dialoggis' þat þe tone of þaim feƚƚ vnto þe syn̛ of lichorie, & her̛-for̛ God deprivid̛ hym̛ of meracles-doyng; and þe toder of þaim feƚƚ vnto pride, & loste aƚƚ þe vertue of his meracles-doyng.
