We rede of a husbandman̛ þat on̛ a tyme went fro home, & he lefte behynd̛ hym̛ to kepe his place iij servandis, and he tolde none of þaim when̛ he wolde com home. So emang þies iij servandis þer movid̛ a question̛ of þe commyng home of þer maister, when̛ it sulde be. And one said̛ he wolde com̛ home sone, & þe secund̛ said̛ nay, it wolde be lang or he come home. And þe iij said̛; "Forsuthe I wote neuer when̛ he wiƚƚ com̛ home." And so it is certayn̛ at þe thrid said̛ þe moste trew. And so it is of þe laste day, þe day of dome; we wote wele it mon̛ com̛, bod we wote neuer when̛, nor what tyme.
