Ira aliquando est dissimulanda.
Valerius tellis how on̛ a tyme ane arschedekyn̛ [Harl. MS. archidiaconus Canentinus.] þat was callid Carentinus, on̛ a tyme when̛ a bondman̛ of his had grevid hym̛, he said̛ on̛ þis maner vnto hym̛; "Had I not bene angred̛ vnto þe I sulde hafe putt þe vnto grete punyssment." And so he had levur lefe þe blame vnpunysshid̛ þan̛ fulfyƚƚ þe movyng of his yre. We rede also of Plato, when̛ on̛ a tyme he was grevid̛ agayns his servand̛ for a tryspas, ffor drede þat he sulde be vengeable & pas mesur, he commytt þe chastiment of his seruand̛ vnto þe fre liste of a noder man̛.
