Cassianus tellis in þis maner of wise & says; "Som tyme
þer was a halie man̛ þat tuke me to hoste &
refresshid̛ me, & spirrid̛

me & exhortid̛ me what I wold̛ eate. And I
answerd̛ agayn̛ & sayd̛ I myght not eatt. And
þan̛ he ansswerd̛ & sayd̛; 'þis day I
hafe sett þe burd̛ to dyvers brether vij sythes, &
desyrid̛ þaim att ete [Harl. MS. hortansque singulos, cum omnibus cibum sumpsi.] , and yit I
am̛ hongrie. And þou, at yit ete no þing, says now
at þou may nott eate.' And on̛ þis [MS. repeats, þis.] maner þai war wunt in commyng of þer
brether for to solve þer faste, and in refeccion̛ of
þaim þai helde it a charitiable contynans." et c̛.
