Hospitalitatis gratia soluendum est interdum ieiunium.

Cassianus tellis how on̛ a tyme when̛ he & other war samen in þe land̛ of Egipte, þai fastid̛ not on̛ þe Fryday. And so þer was certayn̛ persons þat askid̛ hym̛, whi he and̛ his felowshipp̛ brak þer faste so as þai did̛. And̛ he ansswerd̛ agayn̛ & said̛; "I faste always, for I hafe not halfe meate enogℏ; & þerfor̛, Page  252 be way of charite, & for to gar my felows eate at þai be strong to do þer pylgramege, I breke my faste to make þaim at eate when̛ þai wold̛ nott."
