Hospitalitas libenter exhiberi debet, quia quandoque
Christus in ea recipitur.
Saynt Gregur tellis how som̛ tyme þer was a husband̛-man̛ whilk þat vsid̛, & aƚƚ his howse-meneya, gretelie to herbar pure folk̘; and he vsid̛ ilk day to hafe att his burde owder pylgrams or pure men̛. So on̛ a day þer was a pylgram̛ emang þe pure men̛, and so as he was wunt to do he servid̛ þaim of watir; & when̛ he suld̛ take þe lavur & powr̛ watir on̛ þis pylgram̛ handis, sodanlie he was away. And he lukid̛ abowte for hym̛, & cuthe not fynd̛ hym̛; and he had grete merveƚƚ here-off. And þe same night when̛ he was in his bed̛, almighti God̛ apperid̛ vnto hym̛ & said̛; "Other dayes þou hase reseyvid̛ me in my membrys, and yisterday þou receyvid̛ [me] to þine hoste in myne awn̛ person̛." et c̛.
