Cesarius tellis how [MS. hom̛.] som̛ tyme þer was a husband̛-man̛, þat had bygand̛ in his howse euer-ilk yere many swalows. So at tyme of þe yere when̛ þai wer bown̛ att goo, he tuke ane of þe old̛ swalows, & he wrate a byƚƚ with þir wurdis þer-in; " O Irundo MS. Irunde. ! vbi habitas in yeme?" & he band̛ it vnto þe fute þer-of, & lete hur goo; for he knew be experiens þat sho wold̛ com̛ agayn̛ þe nexte yere. And so sho flow hur wais with other in-to þe lande of Asie; & þer sho biggid̛ in a howse aƚƚ wynter. And so þis gude man̛ of þe howse on̛ a tyme beheld̛ hur. And he tuke þis burd̛, & lowsid̛ þe biƚƚ, & lukid̛ whatt was þer-in; & he tuke it away, & wrate a noder of þies wurdis; " In Asia, in domo Petri." & he knytt it vnto hur fute, and lete hur go. And sho come agayn̛ att sommer vnto þis husband̛ howse, wℏar̛ sho had bred befor̛; & he tuke hur & lowsid̛ þis biƚƚ, & redd it. & he told̛ þe storie þer-of vnto many men̛, evyn̛ as it had bene a meracle.
