As holie fadurs tels, we rede how þer was a holie religious
man̛, þat askid̛ his abbott, þat hyght
Josepℏ, & said̛; "And I se my bruther do a tryspas, it
is gude vnto me to layn̛ itt?" And þan̛ þis old
Abbott ansswerd̛ hym̛ agayn̛ & said̛,
"When̛ som̛ evur we hide þe syn̛ of owr̛
bruther, almighti God hydis owr̛ syn̛, & when̛
som̛ evur we vtter þe synys of owr̛ brether,
