And þis holie man̛ purseyvyd̛ þis, & gaff þaim a charge & said̛; "Amend̛, & correcte your tongis, or els here I curse you." And þai wold̛ not amend̛ þaim; & with-in a little while after þai dyed̛, & was berid̛ in þe kurk̘. And þer was ane vsage, þat euere day afor̛ mes, a deken̛ stude vp̛ & said̛; "He þat is curste, go his ways!" So þer was a noryss of þairs þat euer-ilk day offerd̛ for þaim, & sho saw þaim rise oute of þer gravis & go oute of þe kurk̘. And sho went & told̛ Saynt Benett; he tuke ane offrand̛ hym̛ selfe and gaff vnto þer nuress; "Goo & offyr for þaim þis offrand̛, and fro hyne furtℏ þai saƚƚ not be cursid̛." And so sho did̛; and when̛ þe dekyn̛ cryed̛ as he was wunte to done, þai war neuer after sene go furtℏ of þe kurk̘.
