Excommunicacio. Excommunicatus MS. Excomminicatus. ab omnibus debet evitari.

Jacobus de Vetriaco tellis how som tyme in þe bisshopprik of Lincoln̛ þer was a smytℏ, and he dispysyd̛ þe sentens of þe kurk̘; and þai cursid̛ hym̛. So on̛ a day he satt at meatt with oþer folk̘, and þer come in-to þe howse vnto þaim a swyne of Saynt Antons. And he tuke bread & keste vnto it, & said̛; "Now saƚƚ itt appere wheþer þis Anton̛ swyne wiƚƚ eatt of my bread̛ þat am̛ cursyd̛, or nay." And þe swyne smellid̛ þe bread̛ & wolde not eate it. And þan̛ he bad one of his felous take þe same bread̛ & giff it; and so he did̛, & yitt it wold̛ not tuche it. And þe toder þat satt aboute gaff it of þer bread̛, and̛ onone þe swyne eate itt.
