Eukaristia propter fidei roboracionem versa est in carnem.

Saynt Gregur tellis how þer was a womman̛ at Rome, and sho had grete devocion̛ to make offrand̛ vnto þe pope, and in esspeciaƚƚ opon̛ þe Sononday. So opon̛ a day sho come with other to be howsyld̛ of þe popis hand̛, and when̛ þe pope sulde howseƚƚ hur, & said̛; " Corpus Domini nostri, Iesu Cristi, et c̛," sho smylid̛; & he pursayvid itt, and with-drew þe sacrament fro hur, & laid̛ it on̛ þe altar fro þe toder. And when̛ he had done, he callid̛ þis womman̛ on̛ syde, and askid̛ hur whatt þing was in hur harte þat

sho smylid̛ whe[n] he sulde hafe howseld̛ hur. And sho ansswerd̛ agayn̛ & sayd̛; "Sur, I vmthoght me þat þat porcion̛ of bread̛ was of þe same offrand þat I made with myne awn̛ handis; and when̛ I hard̛ you caƚƚ itt a body, þan̛ I smylid̛." And evyn̛ furtℏ-with þis holie man̛ hereof made a sermon̛ vnto þe peple, & he & þai feƚƚ in þer prayers vnto almyghti God̛, & evyn̛ opynlie, at þai aƚƚ saw, þis porcion̛ turnyd̛ in-to a little fynger aƚƚ bludy. And when̛ þis womman̛ & aƚƚ þe peple saw þis, þai war passand̛ fayn̛ [MS. fayr.] , & mekuƚƚ more stirrid̛ into deuocion̛ & confermyng of þe faithe þan̛ þai wer afor. et c̛.
