Elemosinam recipientes ab vsurarijs
puniuntur.
We rede in 'Legenda Sancti Fursij,' when̛ þe sawle of hym̛ was passid oute of his bodye, ffendis accusid̛ hym̛ befor̛ almighti God̛, and þai cuthe not fynd̛ nothyng to accuse hym̛ off, bod at he had on̛ a tyme taken̛ a cape of ane vusurar, & þis sentans þai fand̛ agayn̛ hym̛. And gude angels stude on̛ þe toder syde & pleyid̛ agayns þaim, and almighti [God] gaff eniugement þat his sawle sulde go agayn̛ vnto his body & do penans þerfor. So with þis þer was a fend̛ wrothe, & in a tene he tuke þis vsurar saule & keste in his face. And so his saule come vnto his bodye; and euer after þer was in his saule [Saule, for face, Lat. MSS. apparuit in facie.] a spott as it war byrnyd̛ with þis vsurar saule. Yit not-with-stondyng þis holie man̛ had nott þis cape of þis vsurar [MS. vsusar.] bod as almos-dede.
