Dileccio. Diligit canis dominum suum, et est
ei fidelis.
Solinnus tellis how þat Apius, Funius [Latin MSS. Iunio.] & Puplius, & dyvers other with þaim, wer dampned̛ att Rome; & when̛ þai war dead̛, one of þaim had a hond̛, & he satt at þe galos att þai hang on̛ iij dayes murnand̛ for his maister, & wolde neuer eate meate of no mans hand̛. & when̛ his maister was taken̛ down̛, þai put brede in his maister mouthe, & he tuke it & eate it; & þan̛ þai keste his maister in-to Tybur, & euer as he flett in þe watir, þe dogg swam̛ with hym̛, & at his power held̛ vp̛ his head̛.
