We rede of a scoler þat was a lustie yong man̛, & so he agreid̛ with a womman̛ at he sulde com̛ vnto hur on̛ a nyght; & sho agreid̛ þerto. So on̛ þe nyght he come noght to hur, bod a fend̛ in lyknes of hur come vnto hym̛ & lay with hym̛ aƚƚ nyght, & lete hym̛ hafe his liste. And on̛ þe morn̛ þis fend̛ askid̛ þis scoler if he wuste whame he had̛ ligen̛ with aƚƚ nyght, & he sayd̛, ya, with sucℏ a womman̛. And he sayd̛; "Nay, þou hase ligen̛ & had̛ at do with þe devuƚƚ;" & þat he sayd̛ it in sucℏ fowle wurdis at it wer shame to teƚƚ. & with þat þe devuƚƚ vanysshid̛ away.
