Demon eciam virginem corrumpit.

Cesarius tellis how þat in þe same town̛ of Bon̛, how þer was a preste þat had a doghter at was wedd̛, & hur husband̛ was dead̛; & sho was so fayr þat he was ferd̛ for hur, to so mekuƚƚ þat evur when̛ he went furtℏ he wold̛ spar hur in a lofte. So on̛ a tyme þe devuƚƚ apperid̛ vnto hur in lyknes of a man̛, & spak vnto hur wurdis of luff to gar hyr inclyne to hym̛, to so mekuƚƚ at he lay by hur & had at do with hur. And sho purseyvid̛ at sho was desseyvid̛ be a fend̛, & told̛ hur fadur. And he was passand̛ hevye and̛ made mekuƚƚ sorow þerfor̛, & had hur thyne owr̛ a grete watir in-to a noder contretℏ, at sho suld̛ be ferrer fro þis fend̛, & [& omitted and added above the line.] at sho

sulde be bettur be changyng of þe ayr. And þis Devuƚƚ myssid̛ hur, & was wrotℏ þerwith, & come vnto þe preste & sayd̛, "þou cursid̛ preste! Whi hase þou taken̛ my wife fro me?" And when̛ he had sayd̛ so, he strake hym̛ opon̛ þe breste, at he spytt blude with iij dayes; & on̛ þe thrid̛ day he dyed̛. And we rede also how þat a fend̛ held̛ a woman̛ vj yere, & come vnto hur ilk nyght in lyknes of a knyght, & lay with hur in bedd̛ as he had̛ bene a man̛. And onone as sho made ane oppyn̛ [confession] þerof vnto Saynt Barnard̛ sho was delyverd̛; and he come neuer to hur after.
