Credere. Credendum est non cito contra
amicum.
Valerius tellis how on̛ a tyme it was told̛ vnto Plato þat Democrates [Latin MSS. Zenocrates.] his disciple had said̛ mekuƚƚ iƚƚ agayns hym̛; & he wold̛ giff no faytℏ þerto. So he att told̛ itt, askid̛ hym̛ whi þat he wold̛ not truste hym̛, & he said̛ he was redie to profe it at he had told̛ hym̛. [Than] this Plato ansswerd̛ & said̛; "It is not trowable at he þat I hafe luffid so lang, att I sulde not be luffid̛ of hym̛ agayn̛." And so he wold̛ gif no truste vnto þe complaynt vnto he spak with hym̛ hym̛ selfe.
