Chorizare. Chorizantes aliquando visibiliter
puniuntur.
We rede how þat a preste þat hight Tullius on a tyme opon̛ þe Yole-evyn̛ said̛ mes in a kurk̘ of Saynt Magnus. And þer was in þe kurk-garthe a grete meneya of men̛ & women̛ dawnssand̛ in a cercle and syngand carals, & lettid̛ dyvyne serves with þer noyse & þer cry. And þis preste commawndid̛ þaim to lefe & þai wold̛ not for hym̛. And when̛ he saw þai wold̛ not lefe, in his mes he prayed vnto God & Saynt Magnus þat it mot please þaim at þai sulde abide so stiƚƚ vnto þe yere end̛; and so þai did̛. And aƚƚ þat yere nowder rayn̛ nor snaw feƚƚ opon̛ þaim, nor þai wer neuer hongrie nor thrustie, nor þer clothes ware nott; bod euer þai went aboute syngand̛ carals as þai had be mad folk̘. And þer was a yong man̛ þat had his sister emang þaim, & he tuke hur be þe arm̛ & wold̛ hafe drowen̛ hur fro þaim, & he pullid̛ of hur arm̛; & þer come no blude furthe, bod sho dawnsid̛ on̛ stiƚƚ: & þus þai did̛ aƚƚ þe yere to it was passid̛. And þan̛ Hubertus at was bysshopp̛ of Colayn̛ [com] & assoylid̛ þaim & lowsid̛ þaim oute of þis band̛, and recownceld̛ þer befor̛ þe altar̛. And þer dyed̛ of þaim þer a man̛ & ij wommen̛; and aƚƚ þe toder slepid̛ iij dayes & iij nyghtis to-geder; and som̛ of þaim had a tremblyng of aƚƚ þer bodie evur after ewhils þai liffid̛. And þis happend in a town̛ of Duche-land̛, in þe yere of owr̛ Lord̛ m.ƚ.x.
