it in hur armys vnto Rome, & þer with grete wepyng & sorow, sho shrafe hur vnto Pope Innocent afor̛ aƚƚ his cardinallis. And þe pope enioynyd̛ hur vnto penance at sho suld̛ com̛ befor̛ hym̛ on̛ þe morn̛ in þe same clothyng at sho had on̛ when̛ sho went to syn̛ with hur son̛. And on̛ þe morn̛ sho did̛ of aƚƚ hur clothyng, and in hur sarke alone sho come afor̛ þe pope, and said̛ sho was redi to fulfiƚƚ whatt penance som̛-euer he wold̛ enioyn̛ hur. And when̛ þe pope saw þatt, he said̛ vnto hur; "þi syn̛ is forgyffen̛ the." And one of þe cardynals when̛ he hard̛ þis, began̛ to gruche agayn̛ þe pope, & said̛ he demyd̛ vnsufficientlie. And þan̛ þe pope said̛ vnto hym̛; "and I hafe demyd̛ iƚƚ, þe devuƚƚ entre into me; and if I hafe wele demyd̛, þe same happen̛ þe, becauce at þou gruchid̛ here-in." And onone att aƚƚ saw at wer aboute, þe devuƚƚ began̛ to vex þis cardinaƚƚ, becauce att he gruchid̛ þat þe pope declarid̛ vnto þis womman̛ þat hur syn̛ was forgyffyn̛ hur.
