Consolacio diuina debet precibus
impetrari.
We rede in 'Libro de Dono Timoris' of a womman̛ þat was devowte; & on̛ a tyme when̛ sho wantyd̛ comfurtℏ at sho was wunte vnto, & was ferd̛ at it suld̛ tary lang or it come, & when̛ at it war commen̛ at it suld̛ sone pas away, and sho spakk vnto hur awn̛ vertues at was with-in hur & sayd̛; "My faythe! go þou vnto my Lord̛ God̛, & charge Hym̛ be aƚƚ þe articles þat er trowed̛ in Hym̛ þat He com̛ vnto me & comfurtℏ me. & my mynde! Be þou His hoste, & ordan̛ for his herberie. And my luff! Luke þou make Hym̛ gude chere. And my charitie! It acordis to þe to hold̛ Hym̛ stiƚƚ, at He pas not away." And when̛ sho had þus chargid̛ aƚƚ hur vertues, onone sho was putt in a mervalos grete comfurtℏ, at contynued with hur lang & recedid̛ noght away from̛ hur.
