Carnis temptacionem MS. tempacioni. reprimunt fetor et horror mulieris mortue.

We rede in 'Vitis Patrum' how þer was a bruther þat gretelie was turment with mynd̛ of a womman̛ þat he saw som tyme. So on̛ a tyme a noder bruther of his come & tolde hym̛ at sho was dead̛; and on̛ þe nyght after he come þer, he hard̛ teƚƚ sho was berid̛, & he grufe down̛ vnto hur & beheld̛ þe fayr clothe at sho was wappid̛ in, and he tuke hur vp̛ & had hur vnto his ceƚƚ. And a litle while after sho began̛ to stynke, and he tuke hur oute & sayd̛, when̛ he lukid̛ on̛ hur; "Lo, flessℏ! now þou hase desyre, ffyƚƚ now þi luste on̛ hur!" And on̛ þis maner of wise he chastid̛ hym̛ selfe many day, vnto hym̛ iƚƚ temptacion̛ went away from̛ hym̛.
