Saynt Gregur tellis how on̛ a tyme opon̛ passℏ day þer was a gude holie preste, & ordand̛ hym̛ bettyr meate in wurshup̛ of þe day. And our Lorde apperid̛ vnto hym̛ & sayd̛; "Thow ordans delicious meattis for þi selfe, & my servand Benett, in such a place, suffres grete honger." And onone þis preste rase & tuke meatt with hym̛ & soght hym̛. And at þe laste with grete labur & sekyng he fand hym̛, & sayd vnto hym̛; "Ryse, & lat vs take vs meate & drynke to-gedur, ffor þis day hafe I broght þe meatt, and it is passcℏ day." And he ansswerd̛ agayn̛ & sayd̛, "I knaw wele þat þis day is passcℏ day, ffor cauce att þou erte commen̛." And he had bene so lang oute of mans felaschup̛ þat he had̛ clene forgetten̛ what day att passℏ day was. Than̛ þis preste said vnto hym̛; "fforsuthe þis day is þe solempnitie of þe resurreccion̛ of our Lord̛, and þerfor̛ as þis day it acordis nott for þe to lyff in abstinens; ffor I was sent vnto the and bedyn̛ bryng þe meatt." And þan þai bothe thankid̛ almyghti God & sayd̛ þer prayers, & tuke þaim meat to-gedur in wurshup̛ of þe resurrecion̛ of our Lord̛. et c̛.
