Justinus tellis how þat kyng Alexander chose not to go with hym̛ in his weris yong men̛, nor þaim þat was in þe [MS. þer.] flowr̛ of þer youthe[d] [MS. youther.] , bode alde knyght[is] þat war wise, & had vsyd batels & cuthe gyff gude cownceƚƚ, at had bene in weris with his fadur. And suche men̛ he trustid̛ for gude knyghtis & made þaim maisters of his chyvalrie. And he sayde þat in batayƚƚ a man̛ sulde nott þink of cowardness nor of fleyng away, bod rather of havyng victorye, and at a man̛ suld̛ giff no truste vnto his fete, bod vnto his wapyn̛ þat was in his hand̛.
