þar metes þaime a miche folke · þe maister of þe playnes, The duke of þe drafes · & of þe derfe fellys, One teosellus a tulke · þat tenyd þaim vnfaire. Line 1212 He girdes in with a gyn · grathed in playthes, All to-brountes þes bernes · & wykydly þaim woundes, Felles mony fey at a frush · fast to þe grunde, And mony renke þat he ouer-rade · rase neuer aftir. Line 1216 Than was sir meliager amoved · & manly debates, Flyngez forth on a fole · with a fele spere, And beres mony grett syre · þorow thike males, Line 1219 All fell bernes at [a] brayde · whilse his breth lastez. And sampson on ane other syde · settez on belyue, Brushes forth on a blonke · brathly he smytez, Betes on with a brande · for brokyn was hys launce, Hewes doun on þe herdez · & hurtez þaim vnfaire. Line 1224 Then arestes, an athell man · & [Better omitted.] ay clike feghtez, Sparres forth with a spere · & spedes hys mightez, . . . . . Mony bald or he blan · broght owt of lyfe.
