LOue is lijf þat lastiþ ay
Þere it is in crist made fest,
Whanne wele ne wo it slake may,
As writen han men wisest.

¶ Þe nyȝt it turneþ in-to day,
Traueile it turneþ in to rest:
If þou wolt do as y þee say,
Þou schalt þanne be with þe best.

¶ Loue is a þouȝt with greet desijr,
And also of a fair loouynge;
Loue y likne in-to a fier
Þat slakeen may for no þing.

loue oure blis schal bringe,
