Nou þei dresse hire to deþ withouten eny drede, And lede forþ þat ladi louesum of lere. Line 275 Grete god, of his grace, of gultes vn-gnede, [P. of yeftes ungwede. C. of gyftes vngnede. I. of gyftes ful gnede.] Help with þe holi gost, and herde hir preyere. [P. Wiþ help of þe holy goost herd.] He directed þis dom and þis delful dede [P., C. derf dede.] To Danyel þe prophete, of dedes so dere; Such ȝiftes god him ȝaf in his ȝouþehede, Line 280 Ȝit failed hit a fourteniht ful of þe ȝere, [278-281. Wanting in I.] [P. faylid hym. C. fayled he.] Nouht layne. Þo criede þat freoly foode: "Whi spille ȝe Innocens blode?" And alle þe stoteyd and stode, [P. þei starid and. I. þei stynted and.] Line 285 Þis ferlys to frayne.

"What signefyes, gode sone, þese sawus þat þou seis?" [P. þu sayes. C. þys sawe and what hyt seythe. I. þu seyth.] Þus þese Maisterful men mouþes can mele. [P., I. witþ mouþes. C. with mowthe.] "Þei be fendus al þe frape, I sei hit in feiþ, [P. Ȝe be fendis. C. Ȝe arn fonned. I. Ȝe bene fonned.] And in folk of I(s)rael be foles wel fele. Line 290 Vmbiloke ȝou, lordes, such lawes ben leiþ, [Wanting in I.] Me þinkeþ ȝor dedes vnduwe such domus to dele; Aȝein to þe ȝild-halle þe gomes vn-greiþ; I schal be proces apert disproue þis a-pele, For nede. [C. In dede.] Line 295 Lat twinne hem in two, [P. Lete disseuere. C. Lett desseuere. I. We schal disseuer.] For now wakneþ heor wo; Þei schal graunte, ar þei go, Al heore falshede."
