About 1215. Grant to Godstow, by Roger Foliot, of ten acres, including no. 264, with such pasture and other rights as went with them.

THE sentence of þis chartur is, þat Roger foliot fitȝ william of Euinlei gaf, grauntid, & confirmid to [Omit to.] , þe howse ['donun' (sic) in the Latin. The trans|lator has wrongly read domum, instead of donum, i.e. house, when it should have been gift.] of his fadur william foliot, to god & to oure ladi & seint Iohn baptiste of Godestowe & to þe abbas & to þe holi minchons þere seruinge god, in-to pure & perpetuel almis, x. acris of londe in the towne of Euinlei, þat is to sei, v. acris arable in þe Est felde, & v. acris in þe weste felde,

oon of þe which is of þe fee of sire seere, erle of winchester, & is vppon purfurlonge, bitwene þe londe of Richard þe sone of mace of Brackelei & þe londe of Gilbert childeber; an-oþer is a-geiniste þe mille of cuttille, & buttiþe vppon þe forow of þe prouoste at j. hede & vppon þe forow of Raph carter at þe oþer hede; þe iij. acre is vppon þe fornecre, bitwene too halfe acris of þe foreseid Richarde þe sone of Mace; þe iiij. acre is vppon longe of þe fee of þe erle, and fallith in-to þe hiwei, & liethe bitwene þe londe of Richard mace & þe londe of Richard childeber; þe v. acre is in micdelbroche, of þe fee of þe erle, & strecchith in-to a croft of Iohn craton; þe vj. & þe vij. acris bin at edwardisburielis, of þe fee of wahull, nih þe londe of Raph fitȝ walter & þe londe of pers childeber; þe viij. acre is vppon Gorbrode, of þe fee of þe erle, bitwene þe londe of Richard mace & þe londe of Gilbert of childeber, & in est perte hit strecchith vppon þe forow of Raph walter; & j. acre, þe whiche is of þe fee of þe erle of winchester, þat is to sei, þat acre þat lithe bitwene þe londe of Richard mace & buttith vppon þe wei of cherlton; & j. acre þat buttith hit-selfe vnto the patthe of hynton, þe whiche is þe fee of wahull, & lieth in netreferne bitwene þe londe of hernolde Goer & þe londe of pers childeber:
