                                  For þov hast þene deuel ouer-come : he armeth him aȝen þe:

                                  þolie þou schalt wo and sor : ase Men schulle in bataylle;
                                
                                  Ȝif þou wolt þolie and a-ȝein him fiȝhte : of is wille he schal faille.
                                
                                  he schal þe, ase he dude Iob : mid alle wo þe fonde;
                                
                                  Seie me ȝif þou it þolie wolt : and faste a-ȝein him stonde!"
